My First Assignment - Early Reflection
"This is your first week in the UW Honors Program. How did you get here? What was your personal path to the UW and to Honors? What do you hope to learn and explore while you are here? Where do you want to go from here?"

Experiential Learning -
For this assignment I interviewed Hayley Thompson, a fellow student in my Honors 100 section, to find experiential learning projects that would appeal to her interests. This is the summary of my findings:
Since Hayley is interested in teaching, I suggested she volunteer with Seattle Public Schools as a tutor. Hayley is also interested in history, anthropology, psychology, and social science, so I suggested she might want to participate in research with the Early Childhood Cognition Lab, which studies the psychology of how children learn. Since Hayley also speaks Spanish, I suggested a few study abroad options including one to Leon, Spain, which studies the Spanish educational system.
The summary of Hayley's suggestions for me:
Since I am interested in animals, biology, and the environment, Hayley suggested I volunteer at the Woodland Park Zoo, or participate in the Partners in the Parks program, which involves visiting and studying a national park. Also, since I can speak Spanish, Hayley suggested multiple study abroad opportunities to Latin America with a focus on biology and studying the region's environment.

Four Year Plan -
This is my very, very tentative plan if I were to major in Environmental Science and Resource Management with a focus on Wildlife Conservation.
