What has taken up the majority of my time and focus autumn quarter is marching band. I learned to play the tenor saxophone just over the summer and it was challenging to keep up with everyone else during the beginning of the year. Practices and football games kept me pretty busy, but I gained so many good friends from the experience that it was definitely worthwhile. Being a part of the Husky Marching Band has made my first quarter at the UW much more enjoyable and introduced me to a supportive group of friends on campus. I plan to continue playing music and improve my skills on the saxophone by joining one of the campus bands next quarter.
I strongly recommend to any who play a musical instrument to audition for the marching band! It's a very supportive, relaxed atmosphere (well, for the most part), a lot of fun, and well worth the time!
