ESRM 201- Pacific NW Ecosystems
This class was a wonderful introduction to the local flora and ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. However, as a Junior who is already well-versed in most everything this class covered, I found it a little dull. This class served as a great review and Professor Doty was a wonderful teacher, but I didn't learn much new. Luckily the course also featured numerous field trips, including an all-day trip across the Cascades, which I enjoyed as they were a great way to review plant species in person and take a break from the classroom.
Below are a few photos from our last field trip!

ESRM 455- Wildlife Seminar
This was my second time taking this one-credit course in order to fulfill my major requirements. The seminar featured a variety of speakers from environmental fields discussing everything from polar bears to reptiles. One of my favorite seminars involved a visit from UW's Conservation Canines, who brought two of their well-trained conservation dogs to the presentation and allowed them to wander throughout the auditorium. I always find the presentations in these seminars to be fun and engaging so I make sure to attend them all! |
