ESRM 450- Wildlife Ecology and Conservation
The follow-up course to ESRM 350, this class went a lot more in-depth than its predecessor and presented much more of an intellectual challenge. I found the weekly discussion sections to be one of the most difficult aspects of the course since I had little experience reading or interpreting academic wildlife research papers, and had trouble following along with the group discussion at times. However, after a bit of practice, I got much better at interpreting papers and felt much more at ease discussing them by the end of the quarter. Just like 350, I found this class very engaging and overall greatly enjoyed it. I look forward to taking more wildlife classes in the future!
My final paper, a formal review of one of the published papers used in our class discussions, can be found below. This was my first time writing a review paper, and I was very apprehensive about the outcome. But after some long hours of dedicated research and writing, I ended up being very confident with my final product!
